Active Shooter Exercise

James Olamigoke

The Department of Public Safety will conduct a “ACTIVE SHOOTER EXERCISE”, April 11, 2018, on the campus of Texas Southern University. During the drill, alerts will be sent out via MIR3, LiveSafe & Simplex Network Voice Command System, giving specific instructions about the drill. Here’s what we need our campus community to do:

• Lock doors;
• Take immediate cover;
• Hide out of sight away from windows and doors;
• Await instructions from the police department; and
• Once given the “All Clear”, proceed accordingly.

Drills help us to practice how to stay safe in case of an emergency. It’s a new day at TSUPD and your safety is our top priority. Please encourage your peers to read all emails from “DPS Alerts”, like and follow us on Social Media, and sign up for our emergency notification systems.
